Program of Activities for 2019

Social Activities
Hi everyone
This is the list of the year’s activities.  Please make a big effort to join in the outings and show your support for our new President, Ken Amos.  Also ask your neighbours and friends to join us on these trips.

Sunday 7th      Meet at 12 noon - 12.15pm at San Churro Café at Westfield Kotara opposite Events Cinema.  At 12.45pm – 1pm we go over to the cinema to see the exotic production of Carlos Acosta’s vibrant show Don Quixote                            from the Royal Opera House in London. Come for coffee and the movie or just the movie.  About $20.  Just turn up.
Tuesday 9th     Walkers Group – meet 9.30am at Caves Beach Surf Club with your morning tea.  Join everyone after the walk at Swansea Workers Club for lunch.
Weds 10th       Diners Group - meet 6pm for dinner at the great Pippis Hotel at Speers Point.  Take your wife out – don’t be lousy!!
Monday 22nd  Just a good old fashioned BAR-B-QUE.  Meet at 11am at Lions Park on the waterfront opposite Glad Gunson Drive, Eleebana.  Bring your barbeque, salad, picnic lunch, sandwiches or whatever you like and your table                         and chairs.  11am morning tea and lunch at 12.30pm.  Bring your wife/partner and friends for a chat and enjoy the day.
Thursday 9th   Tom’s famous morning teas – today we meet at Lenas Café at Warners Bay at  10am.
Tuesday 14th   Walkers Group – meet at 9.30am at Pelican waterfront with your morning tea.  Join the group if you wish at Pelican RSL Club for a great lunch.
Weds 15th       Diners Group – TBA – see Jim Mitchell for details.
       Tuesday 11th   Walkers Group – meet at Redhead boardwalk, Webb Street, Redhead. Bring your morning tea and lunch today will be at Redhead Bowling Club.

      Tuesday 18th  Car Observation Trial – combined with Warners Bay Ladies Probus Club – details to follow.
      Weds 26th       Wine Group One – celebrate our 21st year of steady drinking and happy times.  We’ve met 241 times during our 21 years.  The group was started by Peter Mead in 1998.  Everyone is invited to join us at Seaview                                  Malaysian Restaurant, Beach Road, Redhead.  $26.50 per person (includes entré, mixed mains & glass of beer, wine or soft drink).  Must pay $10 deposit at May or June meeting, balance at venue.  It will be a very,                                very good night.  Limited numbers.
      Thursday 4th   Tom’s famous morning teas – see you at Canon Restaurant, 460 The Esplanade, Warners Bay at 10am.
Tuesday 9th     Walkers Group – meet at 9.30am at Swansea Channel, Dobinson Drive, Swansea.  This part of the lake is not visited much, so come and have a look.  Lunch is at Swansea Workers Club.  Like every month, if you                             don’t wish to go to lunch, that’s ok.  Just come for the walk or vice versa.
Weds 10th       Diners Group – further details to follow
Friday 19th      Carpet Bowls – come to our first day at Warners Bay Sports Club.  Meet at 12 noon – 12.15pm for lunch (mixed mains, glass of beer, wine or soft drink).  At 1pm we bowl the ball down the carpet!  I don’t know                               much about it but I’ve been told you bowl underarm not overarm.  Lunch and game $15.  It will be a great afternoon – be there, bring you wife and friends.  Pay at July meeting.
Thursday 25th Day Trip – We catch the train from Cardiff or Fassifern to Gosford and out to Erina Fair for morning tea. Then by bus to Davistown RSL for lunch.  We will return by ferry to Woy Woy and then train home.  Pay                                  everything on the day.
Tuesday 13th   Walkers Group – meet at 9.30am at Speers Point Park for morning tea.  Lunch after the walk will be at Sal’s at the park.  Be there!

M-F 26-30th     Hawkesbury Trip – 5 days in the Hawkesbury Valley area – for full details see Barry Barton.
Thursday 5th   Tom’s famous morning teas – why not take your wife out for a change!  Meet at Bella Beans in the arcade at Warners Bay at 10am.
Tuesday 10th   Walkers Group – meet at 9.30am at Swansea Heads Park.  Join the group for lunch at Swansea Works Club.
Weds 11th       Diners Group – details TBA
Monday 30th   Newcastle Trip – see Newcastle like you’ve never seen it before!  Starting with morning tea in the new university building, cnr Hunter & Auckland Streets.  See the new gardens and parklands and have a ride on the                        new light rail.  Did you know you can have a violin made in Hunter Street?  Come and have a look at our city.  You can park your car in Glebe Road & catch the Number 14 bus into town – save on parking fees.                               Then join us for lunch at the Gates Hotel.  See you for coffee at 10am.   
Tuesday 8th     Walkers Group – Meet at Green Point at the end of Ross Street at 9.30am for a magic day out.  Lunch at 16 Footers Club.

Monday 28th   Carpet Bowls – at Warners Bay Sports Club at 1.30pm.  Cost $5 (includes afternoon of bowling & cup of coffee, middy of beer, glass of wine or soft drink)
Thursday 7th   Tom’s famous morning tea – 10am at Hippos Café, The Esplanade, Warners Bay.
Tuesday 12th   Walkers Group – last walk of the year!  Meet at Lions Park, Eleebana at 9.30am for morning tea, then enjoy a nice meal at Valentine Bowling Club after the walk.

Weds 20th       Bus Trip – park your car at Woolworths carpark at Mayfield & join us at 9.30am for morning at Michel’s coffee shop, Maitland Road, almost opposite the carpark.  Get your opal card out for a trip through Newcastle                         Uni and on to Cessnock.  Lunch at Cessnock before returning to Mayfield.  A relaxing day out.  Put your name down early but no later than our November meeting.

     Friday 20th      Christmas Barbeque – enjoy whatever you wish to have (BBQ, salad, sandwiches).  Meet at Thomas Halton Park at Eleebana (western end) at 3.30pm – 3.45pm.  Cost $2.50 per person for a glass of bubbly or fruit                                 juice & Christmas cake.  Have a great night.  Must be paid for on or before December meeting.
     Weds   15th       A very special day – save up for this one!! A meal to die for at the best restaurant on the Central Coast.  More details to follow.
